UPCOMING GUESTS
Tahnai Annis | Retired Professional Footballer
What do you say about a woman who defies convention?
A woman who appears small and unassuming, yet inspires others to become something greater than themselves. Someone who has the rare ability to unite a team around a purpose larger than any one individual.
Tahnai Annis is more than a coach or a captain. She is a leader on and off the pitch. A thinker. A listener. An Athlete Ally with a deep passion for women and women’s sports.
As captain of the Philippines women’s national team, Tahnai led her squad to their first AFF Women’s Championship title in 2022 and helped secure the nation’s first-ever appearance at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
After retiring from professional soccer in 2024, she continues to mentor the next generation of footballers through one-on-one coaching and with Total Soccer Training, an all-girls soccer program in Chicago, Illinois.
I met Tahnai when she began training our youngest daughter. She sharpened her technical skills, restored her confidence, and offered wisdom that reached far beyond the game. If Tahnai taught me anything, it’s that “you’re a goddamn cheetah” and that there are countless pathways to the goal.
In this episode of Anything Could Happen, we’ll explore what it truly means to lead: how captains build extraordinary teams, why championing women matters, how to navigate the shifting identities that accompany life’s transitions, and how finding the balance between being and doing can transform the way we live, lead, and love.

In this episode of Anything Could Happen, we dive into what it really takes to thrive as a full-time mom while living with autoimmune disease. We’ll explore why health and fitness are essential for longevity and quality of life, how to keep moving forward when life gets hard, and the mindset shifts that make resilience possible.
If you’ve ever wondered how to keep showing up when the odds seem stacked against you, this conversation is for you.
